Privacy Policy

Breathing Room by Perrie House LLC
Effective date: November 1, 2026

Breathing Room helps you plan from paycheck to paycheck. This policy explains how the app handles information, and separately describes contact with Perrie House and use of this website.

Your budgeting data

Balances, paychecks, bills, expenses, and other financial details you enter are stored locally on your device. Breathing Room does not require a separate app account and does not connect to your bank or move money.

The current app does not transmit your budgeting data to Perrie House servers. The app has no advertising or developer-operated behavioral analytics. Technical services used by the app can process the limited information described below. Perrie House does not collect, sell, or share your locally stored budgeting data through the app. These statements describe the current app; they do not mean that Apple, Google, Expo, or services you choose never process information.

Apple purchases and subscriptions

Breathing Room uses Apple StoreKit for a monthly subscription with a seven-day introductory free trial for eligible subscribers. Availability, eligibility, price, and renewal terms are shown in Apple's purchase screen before you subscribe.

Apple processes payments and manages your Apple Account, purchase history, renewals, and refunds. The app uses StoreKit transaction and subscription-status information to determine access and restore purchases. Perrie House does not receive your payment-card details. Apple may provide developers with transaction, subscription, sales, and other reports through its developer services. This is separate from the financial information you enter in your budget.

Apple handles information under its own policies. See App Store & Privacy and Apple's Privacy Policy. Manage or cancel a subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Google Play purchases and subscriptions — Android

On Android, subscriptions and eligible introductory trials use Google Play Billing. Google displays the price, trial eligibility, and renewal terms before purchase and processes payment through your Google account. The app receives purchase and subscription-status information to grant access, acknowledge purchases, and restore an active subscription. It does not receive your payment-card details or send purchase tokens or receipts to a Perrie House server or a third-party purchase-verification service.

Google processes account and payment information under its own terms and Privacy Policy. Google Play may make developer sales and subscription reports available separately from your locally stored budget. Manage or cancel your subscription through Google Play's Payments & subscriptions settings. Uninstalling Breathing Room or clearing its data does not cancel a subscription.

Receipt photos and text recognition

Receipt scanning is optional; you can enter an amount manually. The camera is used when you choose to take a receipt photo and grant permission. The system photo picker gives the app access to the photo you select. The app processes the image and extracted text on your device to suggest a receipt total. It does not upload the receipt image or extracted text. It attempts to remove its temporary cached image after scanning, whether scanning succeeds or fails; if removal fails, the operating system can reclaim the cache. Your original photo in your library is not deleted. An amount you choose to save becomes part of your local financial workspace.

iOS uses Apple's on-device Vision text recognition. Android uses Google ML Kit text recognition through expo-text-extractor. Google Play services may download or update the Android recognition model. ML Kit sends technical metrics to Google, including device and app information, device or installation identifiers, performance measurements, feature-use events, and error information. Google uses these metrics to operate, diagnose, improve, and protect its APIs. This is separate from receipt content: Google states that ML Kit inputs and outputs are processed on-device and are not sent to its servers. ML Kit's disclosed metrics are encrypted in transit using HTTPS. See ML Kit Terms & Privacy, Android data disclosures, and Google's Privacy Policy.

App updates and technical information

Breathing Room is configured to check Expo's EAS Update service for app updates. Update requests can include the platform and operating system, runtime and update versions or identifiers, update channel, error-recovery information, a randomly generated installation identifier, and normal connection information such as the IP address visible to the server. They do not include your financial workspace, receipt photos, extracted receipt text, or other text you enter in your budget.

Expo processes end-user information on the developer's behalf to provide its services. The installation identifier distinguishes an app installation; it is not derived from a hardware identifier or an app account. Update requests use HTTPS. See Expo's Privacy Policy, Privacy Explained, and Security & Compliance.

The app's optional payday reminders are scheduled locally on your device. The app does not register an Expo push token or send your payday schedule to a reminder server. You can control notification permission through device settings.

Device backups and diagnostics

On iOS, local storage does not necessarily mean data can never leave your device. Depending on your settings, app data may be included in iCloud Backup or a computer backup. Apple or your chosen backup provider controls those services; Perrie House does not operate them or have access to your backup. See Apple's explanation of iCloud backups and review your device's backup settings.

Apple may collect device, usage, or crash diagnostics under its own policies and your settings. Apple may make certain diagnostics or aggregated app reports available to developers when permitted. This is separate from analytics or tracking built into Breathing Room. Review Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements for available choices.

The current Android release disables Android's app backup and device-transfer mechanism for its workspace. There is no Breathing Room account or cloud copy from which Perrie House can restore your budget. Do not rely on uninstalling and reinstalling, or changing phones, to preserve your Android workspace. Google Play and Android system services may separately process information under Google's policies and your device settings.

Your choices and data deletion

You control the financial details you enter and can update your plan in the app. Deleting the app from your device removes its local app data; on iOS, offloading an app may retain its data. Copies in iOS device or computer backups may remain until you remove or replace those backups. Restoring an iOS backup may restore app data. Manage those copies through the relevant backup service. On Android, you can also clear the app's storage in device settings. Perrie House cannot retrieve or delete budgeting data it does not hold.

Clearing local app data does not by itself delete records retained separately by Apple, Google, Expo, or website and email providers. Their information handling and retention are described in their policies. We do not promise a particular deletion period for their technical records. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@perriehouse.com; do not send account numbers, passwords, or unredacted financial records.

Protect your device and backups with the security options available to you. No device, storage method, or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
